Ja Morant exited his first game against his former team in the fourth quarter Thursday night with a left hamstring injury, and he was ruled out of the Portland Trail Blazers’ 124-103 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Morant finished with 14 points and three assists in 23 minutes before leaving the game.
Trail Blazers coach Micah Nori said after the game that Morant felt a twinge in his hamstring. Nori said he hoped to have more answers Friday. “I’m hoping that it’s nothing major, obviously,” Nori said.
Morant is in his first season with Portland after spending the first seven years of his career with Memphis. He has averaged 16.3 points and 6.3 assists in 26.7 minutes per game. The Trail Blazers had started the season 3-0 before suffering their first loss Thursday.
